This Girl Can at Welwyn – Track Taster Session
Free
FREE introductory track session for women and girls from 14 years of age. No previous track experience needed. Supported by This Girl Can and Welwyn Hatfield Council.
You will need to hire a track bike at a cost of £5. You will NOT be able to use a road, hybrid or mountain bike for this session. See the description below for further details.
1-3pm (Riders to arrive for sign on and briefing at 12:30pm).
All riders must be competent riders but have not ridden a fixed wheel bike before.

Description
Minimum age 14 years old.
Track bikes are available to hire @£5 per session. The standard Pedal system is Look Keo (Hire bikes have Keo pedals fitted with Toe Clips & Straps fitted to pedal converters. Pedals on Hire bikes cannot be changed.)
Footwear: Flat soled laced Trainers or Road Cycle Shoes fitted with Look Keo cleats
Wearing Helmet & Mitts on the Track is mandatory.
We recommend riders wear cycle clothing suitable for the prevailing weather conditions on the day. Alternatively, short sleeved top with undervest/base layer & shorts/leggings plus long sleeve top will do…
Please bring a drink with you. Further details and rider briefing will be given on the day.
Please be aware, this is an outdoor Velodrome and if the Track is wet, the session may not take place. Please keep an eye on the local weather forecast and check the website/Facebook/Twitter for news updates.
After successfully completing a the session, riders can progress to the track novice sessions.
