Another excellent evenings racing with a large number of riders marred only by a crash, the first of the season, in the final 10 lap event with 25 laps remaining when a clash of wheels resulted in 9 riders hitting the deck. After a short delay to patch up the inevitable cuts and abrasions the race was restarted with all but 4 of the fallen riders getting back into the race. The restart set off at a furious pace and the field split but regrouped. With just under 2 laps remaining the pace slowed - Digby Symons and Phil Lisher attacked and looked to have a winning lead at the bell from the chasers– the chase was in vain - Phil Lisher led Digby Symons over the line for a well timed and well executed breakaway victory.
Prior to this Bryan Taylor had won all three Senior A races from the Agisko riders.
Local rider Claire Newland won the Group B Hare and Hounds with an impressive performance with the main bunch never looking able to reel her in. Dan Snow won a very competitive low scoring Points race with 6 riders in contention in the final lap.
The 30 youth riders, split into three ability groups, produced some close finishes none more so than the final combined 4 lap handicap with 25 riders all aiming to beat the handicapper. Joe Fry’s last half lap dash gave him a well earned victory from a fast closing group of 8 riders
