The local heat of the GHS 10 mile Time Trial took place on the Welwyn Wheelers evening 10 course on Sunday 13th July. Conditions were dry and warm with a slight head/crosswind along the dual carriageway.

The 16 year old age group and overall was won by the Hemel Hempstead rider Conor Dunne in 22:40 (a rider the club may recall rode round our evening 10 two weeks ago in 22:19).

Tom Gallacher came third overall and won the 15 year old age group while Alex Anderson was fourth overall and won the 14 year old age group.

With not much on paper between the Welwyn Wheelers and Hemel Hempstead clubs the team prize was going to be close but the club rose to the occasion and ended up winning the team prize by over two minutes. Dan Snow (fifth overall) was the third counter with Tom and Alex.

The results mean that Tom, Alex and Dan all qualify for the Wewlyn Wheelers organised GHS Final taking place on Sunday September 14.
