While the majority of the club were racing at Milton Keynes a select few braved the infamous Hoggenberg at Hog Hill.  In the youth races Michael Parry and Joe Latham rode in the U12 and U8 races taking 9th and 3rd respectively.  Michael gets a special mention for heading straight off to Milton Keynes to race for a second time in the day.

Alex Peeke mounted an early defence of the road race trophy by taking 10th place in the 4th cat race.  As usual for Hog Hill the riding in the 4ths was of a much higher standard than at certain other circuits.  The wind meant that any attacks were quickly brought back but the hill whittled the bunch down from 38 to 22 at the finish. Alex started his sprint (such as it is) from too far back to do any better than 10th.

The next race was the senior 2nd and 3rd cats with Laura Trott back in Welwyn colours for the first time in a few years.  Laura showed how it should be done by riding a controlled race near the front of the group keeping an eye on the key moves an staying out of trouble.  A break of 3 went early and a lone survivor took the win by 16 seconds.  Laura took fifth in the bunch gallop for the minor placings.
