The club hill climb competition took place on New Road, Digswell Hill on Sunday 19 October.  It was well attended despite the fund-raiser comedy night the previous evening.

With Peter Bonfield absent this year, the competition was wide open and after a stewards' enquiry as to some anomolous results, Steve Hayward riding his winter fixed wheel bike was declared the winner with 2:56.  Other notable rides were Dan Smith coming a very close second with 2:58 and Howard Ashmore producing 3:14 to claim 6th place.  Claire Newland was first lady and 4th overall with 3:10.
