The first race was the U14/U16s which was won by Hugo Robinson of Ipswich BC for the 2nd year running.  Tom Gallagher was third at 3:46 with Alex Anderson taking an impressive 5th place another minute down on Tom with Dan Snow following in 7th.  George Bateman, George Farrell, Charlie Parr and Jack Bonfield all finished putting in good efforts on their mountain bikes.

The next race was the U12/U10s which soon became a two man contest between Will Street and Archie Wishart.  Will led around the course with Archie staying in close contact no more than a bike length behind.  In the final sprint Will held Archie off to win by half a wheel.  Most of the rest of the field was made up of Welwyn riders who put on a good showing, in particular Tom Street who finished 4th.

The final race was the seniors and juniors.  This was won by league leader Shaun Aldous of  Lotto Olympia Team Interbike who covered 10 laps in 54:51.  First Welwyn rider was Andy Street in his first race at junior level who finished 2 laps and 16 seconds behind the winner.  Following Andy by just over a minute were Alex Peeke and Steve Hayward with Tim Chandler also finishing on the same lap.  Andy Wishart and James O'Brien finished 3 laps down having batled the course on their mountain bikes on a day when the cyclo cross bike was at a clear advantage.
